CNC LATHE MACHINIST
Position Summary
CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for machining and producing complex production parts on a CNC lathe with 4th axis live tooling to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate, timely and cost–effective manner.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism
- Able to read and properly interpret machine drawings
- Independently sets up and operates CNC lathe
- Selects appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work
- Capable of performing quality control function on the CNC lathe (offset adjustment)
- Aligns/ secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines
- Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
- Measures, examines and tests completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Ensures all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety
Certifications/Skills:
- Knowledge of Fanuc control
- Experience working with Mori Seiki machines a must
- Demonstrated ability to setup a machine and run the job with minimal supervision
- Experience with live tooling is a must
- Strong math and computing knowledge
- Knowledge of general safety procedures
- Knowledge of G, D & T
- Ability to meet production requirements and run router times as specified
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate English fluently
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of 2 years’ machining experience with a CNC lathe
Physical Requirements
Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
