MATERIAL HANDLER/MACHINE OPERATOR
Position Summary
Material Handler/Machine Operator is responsible for filling customer orders, delivering them to the delivery platform, loading product onto trailers in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security and productivity, and setting up, maintaining and operating assigned machinery.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Material Handling:
- Ability to use a band saw to cut raw material
- Capable of reading a tape measure, calipers, and other measuring devices
- Proficiently operate forklift and other material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Pull and pre–stage raw material blanks
- Maintain records and assist with routine inventory cycle counts
- Machine Operator:
- Operate various types of equipment and machinery, such as:
- Sander – Associate will blast material in preparation for machining or as needed for production.
- Furnace – Associate will prepare the furnace for heat treatment in accordance with heat specifications.
- Cut–off machine – Associate will accurately set up and cut channel material independently to the required tolerance listed.
- Goff Shot Blaster – Associate will blast large quantities of material in preparation for the machining process or as needed during production.
Certifications/Skills:
- Strong communication skills a must
- Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery
- Data entry, math and computer skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Certification in forklift operation a plus
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience:
1+ years operating heavy equipment and working in a warehouse setting
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
