REPAIR & ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN


Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Team Lead the Precision Repair and Assembly Technician is responsible for the repair and assembly of reciprocating compressor components which are primarily composed of valves, packing cases, actuators plus other related equipment.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble reciprocating compressor components
  • Operate lathe, mill, grinder and lapping table from part set up to job completion
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Perform other miscellaneous mechanical duties as required
Certifications/Skills:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge and experience with the repair and assembly of reciprocating compressor components such as valves, packing cases, piston and rod assemblies, actuators, etc.
  • Capable of prioritizing and troubleshooting issues
Minimum Education:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years machining experience with a manual lathe, mill and other shop equipment
  • Knowledge of reciprocating compressor component repair and assembly

Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects

Job Type: Full–time
Schedule: 8 or 12 hour shift, Monday to Friday, weekends as needed (workload dependent)
